Keschia Potter

Saxophonist, Keschia Potter, is a Los Angeles born songwriter/composer, producer, pianist and educator. Her passion for music runs deep from the tender age of 6 when she began studying classical piano at B.W.I Studio of the Arts in Inglewood, CA. At the age of 14, Keschia decided to learn the alto saxophone in order to join the noted Washington Preparatory High School Jazz ensemble where she had the opportunity to perform at the renowned Playboy Jazz Festival. After performing, she was discovered by master of ceremonies, Dr. Bill Cosby. He was impressed by her talent and invited her to appear with him on KTLA Channel 5 Morning news as well as perform in his band, “Cos of Good Music.”

After graduating from Washington Prep, Keschia went on to UCLA to earn her bachelor’s degree in music and Master’s degree in Afro-American studies. Shortly afterwards, she became an adjunct professor at California State University, Long Beach and Compton College. For the past 5 years, Keschia has toured the U.S and internationally playing the saxophone with Robin Thicke, Jennifer Hudson, and Beyonce. She is currently finishing her highly anticipated Debut CD in which she is continuing to forge new paths in music.
